David DiLullo is a percussionist and drum circle facilitator. His mission is to introduce the joy of drumming to as many people as possible.
While still in college, David was invited to teach UCLA's drumline, where he led the program to unprecedented success and gained acclaim in Modern Drummer Magazine. After directing dozens of college and high school percussion programs (twice leading the Tournament of Roses Parade), David turned his focus toward world drumming and drum circles.
David founded Global Drum Circles, the largest drum circle activity in Northern California, and holds drumming events for thousands each year... from motivational seminars by Marianne Williamson, to corporate drum circles for top executives at AT&T, to clinical staff and doctors at Kaiser Permanente.
In association with the Peninsula Stroke Association, Dave has applied drum circles as a therapeutic activity for recovering stroke and severe brain injury patients at Good Samaritan Hospital. He is also a regular facilitator at Kaiser Hospital's "Rhythm's of Wellness" Program.
As a percussionist, Dave has performed with Jeff Oster, grammy-nominated Michael Manring, Nadine Risha, Gypsy Soul, Rickie Byars Beckwith, Gina Sala, Deborah Winters, Emmy Award-Winning Faith Rivera, Eddie Watkins Jr., William Susman, Ann Licater, Shambhu, Destiny, Suellen Primost, Tom Politzer, Jami Lula, Paradiso, the nationally acclaimed Choral Project and more.
Dave was the percussionist on Ann Licater's "Doorway to a Dream", awarded best Native American Album by the 2010 ZMR Music Awards and one of Amazon's Best Albums of 2010. He played on the track "Into the Heart", from the same album, which was recently nominated Best New Age Song by the Independent Music Awards. Dave also brought world percussion to Michelle Chappel's "No Place Like Home", winner of the 2008 Billboard World Song Contest.
Dave leads the music program at Center for Spiritual Living in San Jose. He features guest musicians each week from around the country backed up by a house band that includes some of the bay area's best musicians who have toured and recorded with the likes of Tower of Power, the Doobie Brothers, Santana, Arturo Sandoval, Huey Lewis and The News, Pete Escovedo, Whitney Houston and more.
David DiLullo is a Health Rhythms trained drum circle facilitator, and is endorsed by drum companies Remo Inc., and Vic Firth, Inc. He is a UCLA graduate and Senior Marketing Manager at a global software company. Read more about Dave in the recent Science of Mind Magazine interview, a co-interview with Rick Allen, the drummer from Def Leppard.
